About This Blog

Sarah Loughlin Freelance Travel Writer, Travel Blogger and Digital SEO CopywriterHi! My name is Sarah, I am a Travel Writer from London currently living in Australia.

I began writing travel features as a young university graduate. I had completed my two childhood goals, to finish university and work a ski season in the Alps; and like many people at this stage, I wasn’t sure what to do next. After a brief stint in the USA I got a job in London working for a ski company. I didn’t know it at the time but it was the start of a love affair with travel that would see me visiting 24 new countries over four continents in the coming years.

I didn’t think I would end up in an ‘office job’, but on my travels I have met some fantastic people and realised that you don’t have to be chained to your desk or to the UK just because you work full time.

Over the past few years, carefully using my precious holiday days and meagre entry level salary, I have managed to visit some incredible places – with careful planning and a bit of research anything is possible.

This blog is to share the knowledge I have gained not just from hours of research but little hints and tips I picked up from people I have met on buses and in bars, who had a little bit of local knowledge to share – the best places to stay, the cheapest ways to get around or an amazing local restaurant. It will hopefully also inspire you to get out and about because after all it’s only a plane ride away.
